Robert Pattinson was born on May 13, 1986, in London, England, to Richard Pattinson, a car dealer, and Clare Pattinson. He has two older sisters, Lizzy and Victoria. Robert Pattinson grew up in Barnes, southwest London, and attended Tower House School and The Harrodian School. He started learning guitar and piano at the age of four. Pattinson developed a passion for cinema in his early teens. Robert Pattinson was expelled from school at age 12 for shoplifting adult magazines and selling them to his classmates. He joined a local theatre club at the age of 15 after his father encouraged him to overcome his shyness. He never thought about pursuing an acting career.
