Early Life and Education

David Mathenge, also known as Nameless, was born on August 1, 1976, in Nairobi, Kenya. He went to Nairobi Primary School before joining Strathmore School in Nairobi for his secondary education. Nameless studied architecture at the University of Nairobi. However, he didn’t gain admission immediately after he finished secondary school.

Career

Before he was admitted to the University of Nairobi, he started recording on the Ogopa Djs label, his family had shares in Ogopa Djs so this gave him a lot of chances.

Nameless had his breakthrough in 1999 through a star-search contest on Kenya’s urban music station 98.4 Capital FM when he won the contest with his original song “Megarider”, which was produced by Tedd Josiah. The song topped the charts for weeks.

David Mathenge collaborated with artists such as the late E-Sir on “Boomba Train,” and Amani on the regional hit “Ninanoki” in 2002, those songs broke Kenyan chart records by maintaining the number one position on the charts for nearly four months.

Nameless has been featured in a song with the Kansoul, ”Moto Wa Kuotea Mbali” which was widely accepted by his fans with a positive review.

In August 2007, Nameless was ranked among the list of 100 most influential Kenyans as selected by The Standard newspaper.

Personal Life

Nameless married Wahu kagwi in 2005, who is also a musician, and they are blessed with three children Tumiso Nyakio and Shiru.
