Early Life & Education
Runtown was born on the 19th of August, 1989, in Enugu State, which is located in the Southeast geo-political zone of Nigeria. He grew up in Lagos, where he had his primary school education. After the demise of his father, he moved back to Abuja to stay with his mother, who was working in the Ministry of Health at that time. Additionally, Runtown studied Fashion Management at a fashion institute in New York City.
Career
Runtown started his career officially when he released his first song titled Runtown. After he moved to Lagos in 2007, he started featuring prominent singers like Phyno, Timaya, J-Martins, and so on. Runtown and Phyno joined together in 2008 to launch Penthauze Music in Lagos. He released two songs, Party Like It’s 1980 and Activity Pikin, on the Penthauze record label.
Then, in 2014, he entered into an agreement with Prince Okwudili Umenyiora, CEO of Dilly Motors and owner of the record company, Eric-Many Entertainment. In June 2018, Runtown’s agreement with Eric Manny Entertainment came to an end. He then founded his own record company, Soundgod Music Group.
Personal Life
Runtown and Selena Leath started a relationship in 2015. Selena Leath, who is a model and an actress, has made appearances in a number of music videos. The couple is blessed with a son, Zamar.
