Tumelo Monyani (born 3 March 1995) known professionally by his stage name Mr Jazziq is a South African fast-rising Amapiano Disk Jockey and producer.  He is famous for being a one-time member of the Amapiano DJ duo and JazziDisciples.

Early Life and Career

Mr. JazziQ was born on March 3, 1995, and was nurtured by his grandmother in Alexandra Township, South Africa, while his parents continued to live in Johannesburg’s north.

He went to Highlands North Boys High School, but much of his academic life is not revealed.

Career

DJ Mr. JazziQ started his career at the age of 14 and, at the age of 16, he began to create the JazziDisciples duo, which was established in 2017 by him and Josiah De Disciple, who both grew up in the same city and had a love for music at their age, and also produced “Amapiano.” They are also well-known for their hit songs, including “Sgubu Se Monati,” “Long Lasting,” and others.

In March 2020, he released his debut solo album, “0303.” Singles from the album were “Askies,” “Blue Skies,” and “Hello Mo’Girl.” His song “Askies,” featuring artists Fake Love and vocalist Moonchild Sanelly, earned a gold certification from RiSA.

In August 2020, he released his foremost debut EP, “The Babies,” with Kamo MphelaLady Du, and Londie London singing and collaborating with Busta 929 on the album. Later in October 2020, JazziQ dropped another album, “Maba Jabul’ Abantu,” featuring again Busta 929, Reece MadlisaZuma, Mpura, Riky Rick, and 9umber, among other musicians. And in November 2020, he appeared on the song “Makazi” from Busiswa’s album My Side of the Story, which was released, and later he dropped the track “Umsebenzi Wethu” in December 2020.

JazziQ has also acted on several TV Channels such as Channel O music TV show, Lockdown House Party and in the finale of Idols South Africa Season 16. And on January 5, 2021, he released his other single, titled “Amaneighbour,” featuring prominent singers like Killer KauReece MadlisaZuma, and ThackzinDJ. “Amaneighbour” peaked at #7 on Good Hope FM’s Top 10 House Chart. In the same year, he released another single, “Woza,” which featured Lady DuBoohle, and Kabza De Small, and appeared alongside Reece Madlisa, Zuma, Mpura, and Kabza De Small on Felo Le Tee’s hit “Nje Nje.” And finally, in 2021, he dropped his second album, “Party With The English,” which gave him inspiration.

On September 4, 2021, he shared the stage with local bands Focalistic, Cassper Nyovest, DBN Gogo, and Kamo Mphela at the AmaFest Tour in the UK. He issued his third album, All You Need Is Piano, on August 11, 2022. The duos Murumba Pitch, Mpura, Lady Du, Tsiki XII, and F3 Dipapa are all included on the album. And this year, he released his third album, “All You Need Is Piano,” featuring Mpura, Lady Du, Tsiki XII, duo Murumba Pitch, and F3 Dipapa.
