Early Life and Education
Jacinta Ocansey was born in Nigeria to Mr. Alex Dzabaku Ocansey and Mrs. Eucharia Ocansey, which earned her Nigerian citizenship even though her parents are Ghanaians. She obtained her primary education, passed her West African Senior School Certification Examination in Nigeria, and did a course at NIIT.
Jacinta spent her formative years in Nigeria. She moved to Ghana to pursue her university education at Pentecost University College. She bagged a degree in Mass Communication from the university. Jacinta joined her church’s choir as a teenager, and with her excellent voice and determination, she has become a better singer.
Career
Jacinta Ocansey started her career at the age of 19. She never dreamt of becoming a comedian, but her mother encouraged her to pursue the profession, and she decided to heed her advice. Ever since she joined the industry, it has led to her breakthrough. She also ventured into comedy and she has been doing well in the entertainment industry so far.
In 2015, she performed at the Akwaaba UK Comedy Night, which was held at the Movenpick Hotel. In 2016, she performed at the Lords of the Ribs Comedy Show in Ghana with the help of Buchi, one of Nigeria’s leading comedians. Not long after she became an actress, she starred in the Yvonne Nelson-produced movie titled “Heels and Sneakers.” She has a single, Gyrate, which features Ethel Eshun.
Jacinta Ocansey has performed in top comedy shows in Nigeria and Ghana, which include MMC Live, Lord of the Ribs, Comedy Bar, DKB Point Of View, Live Comedy Thursday, Comedy Night with Buchi (Lagos), Shakara and the Gang(Lagos), Girltalk, and Comedy Express.
