Biography of Rankey: His Age, early career & songs
Omirida Otumala Pius, popular on stage as Rankey, is a Nigerian artist, songwriter, and composer. He was born in the family of Mr. Simon & Mrs. Beatrice Egbere Omirida in Enugu State Nigeria. The young talented artist from Benue state was born on 6th November 1999 and is currently based in Karu Nasarawa state.
Educational Qualification
Rankey attended Erdoo Memorial High Level, Makurdi Benue State. He later moved to F.G.C Okigwe, Imo State for his junior secondary education and finished his senior secondary at Saint Joseph’s Sec. Sch. Nyiman, High-Level Makurdi, Benue State.
He later got admission into the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and graduated in 2011
Early Career
Rankey started music at his secondary school where he performed for his school choir in a catholic school. According to him, the choristers had separate spaces for voice ranges and they were amazed at his voice and set him up in Tenor. After that, he started singing and writing his songs. He was a huge fan of Wizkid, Davido, Psquare and 2baba back when he was 2face, and they inspired him a lot.
He also performed at NYSC camp on stage and inspired the students and many more people in a year.
